- Third Place Transition House is a non-profit organization that has offered emergency shelter for up to 6 weeks and outreach services to women and their children for over 40 years
- We offer a variety of services including family support, advocacy, public education, food and clothing assistance, court accompaniment, emotional support, educational programming, referrals, and more
- Intimate Partner Violence has officially been declared an epidemic in Nova Scotia, from June 2024-January 2025 7 women were killed in Nova Scotia as a result of intimate partner violence, from 2021-2024 the rate of femicides in Nova Scotia has increased by 552.63% - this information reminds us how critical it is to take action and help however we can
- Housing remains one of the many barriers that make it challenging for women to leave an unsafe relationship - housing crisis, lack of affordable housing / housing that is affordable is not safe, if financial abuse is present in the relationship that further hinders a woman's ability to secure funds for housing
- Third Place offers emergency supportive shelter for up to 6 weeks 
- Our Second Stage Housing will have safe and affordable units for women and their children who have fled domestic violence, space for programming and education, and a safe space for women to call their own and continue their healing journey with the support of Third Place Staff
